Big Men

Would you imagine, rubbing shoulders with top businesspeople in your own country? Its quite an achievement to do that. They are fascinating to watch, I mean you get star-struck. If you have ever read an African leader say, "If you want to be successful, just surround yourself with successful people. Because their success somehow spills over you." Now thats what I intend to do. These are the big men; Peter Koep, outgoing Chairman of NSX and Harold Pupkewitz, the men every Namiban wants to associate with.

The Winners

It was great to meet this year's first prize winners the Capital 4 from Etosha Secondary School in Tsumeb, they walked away smiling to the bank with a N$ 20 000, now thats quite a sum. Next year, we want to grap that cheque. Congrats! To the champs.

Just in! I don't you to miss this, its me giving the speech at the NSX Gala Dinner at the Windhoek Country Club & Resorts. What a moment it was for a young man like me!

Greatest Moment

It was a real honour and privilege to be invited to the Prize Giving Dinner and deliver a speech. It doesn't get any better than that does it? Of course it may, but this was beyond my imagination. Had I ever been to such a high-profile event? Huh! This is just getting better and better. I had the chance to give my speech with the likes of H. Pupkewitz, Q. van Rooyen, D. Nujoma, A. Haynes, C. Duffy, dynamic businesspeople and distinguished executives countrywide. Not to mention that A. Haynes, CEO of ITG came all the way from the UK for the Galla Dinner. What a privilege! I am glad to have done the speech in a pretty, decent manner. Credit is given where its due, in this case to my greatest partner; Edward -we did it together, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have got such a privilege. After completing my speech, I got loud applause, attention and admiration. It was as if Joseph Kadhila had won the Nobel Peace Prize, indeed the greatest moment of my entire life. Ha!ha! That's obviously greater. Jenny Masikini, Loide Nakanduungile and Madelein Smith (got the chance to finally meet them all) made it possible for me. Let me also not forget Mr John Mandy, CEO of the NSX and Ciaran Duffy, MD of NBL for the recognition. I am very grateful.
Hopefully, we will be back next year -for the cash, of course.

Music Classes

Music is one of the most powerful ways to get a message through, infact it can be used for anything. I have been taking Keyboard lessons since, well late 2005. I want to know how to play the Keyboard or Piano. Its has some rocket signs - cleffs, notes, time signature, diatonics, traits and much much more. Practice makes perfect though. We are quite a group, taught by pianist Boavida Fillemon.

Namibian Scholars Investment Challenge 2007

The Namibian Scholars Investment Challenge 2007 recently came to an end. It was a great, fascinating, fun Challenge and we really learned a lot. It was amazing to own fictitious shares in various companies and bear all aspects as if it were true. I had just read Warren BuffetÅ› story and its so inspiring, I mean he made a fortune out of investments. So this Challenge was and is important to my future if I am to succeed as an investor. I am not disappointed to not have won though I would like to have won with my team Streets Smart. All that matters is that I or rather, we all gained something -the invaluable experience. Not forgetting that it will be back next year, and giving up wont be an option. Thank our organisers (Jenny & co.), sponsors (NSX & NBL) and stockbrokers (Madelein, Nigel....) for making this Challenge possible and a success. Listed are this yearÅ› winners; Congratulations!

Best Teacher

Many people are hailed as heroes or heroins, but who are heroes? I have my own definition. I regard heroes as anyone who exceeds expectations. Thus, I regard my Computer Teacher; Ms Liz McEntee as one of heroes. She came all the way from the US to teach us here in Namibia. Without a Teaching Diploma/Degree yet she could teach us so well that we registered one of the highest scores -if not the highest in Keyboard and Word Processing both Nationally and Regionally. We were awarded Best School in the subject in the Region, while she became the Best Teacher in the subject. That's amazing isn't it?......... We salute you Ms McEntee.
